HOW DOES COUNSELLING HELP EATING DISORDERS

Counselling helps those with eating disorders by providing a supportive and safe environment to explore thoughts, feelings and behaviour related to food and the body. Through counselling, individuals can learn new coping skills and understand how to develop healthy relationships with food and their bodies while at the same time addressing the underlying emotional and psychological issues that led to the development of the eating disorders. It provides education and support to individuals and their loved ones in order to better understand the condition and the steps required for recovery.
